Can I Reset My UAN Account When I Forget the Password?
Employee Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) will allocate a 12-digit UAN number for every EPF (Employee Provident Fund) member. - Under the login section page, please click Forgot Password link (right side of the main page). Again click on the option Forget EPF UAN Password which will redirect you to the next page.
- Please enter the mandatory fields: UAN account number and Captcha text.
- After filling the information, press the Submit option. You will get a pop-up window and prompt to enter UAN number and the Mobile number which is registered with your Universal Account number and press the Yes button.
- The system will send an OTP only to the mobile number which is registered and enter the same under the Verify OTP field.
- After OTP verification, you will be granted with access to create your own UAN password. Please type the same password under both new and same password field.
- Password should be 8 to 25 characters long and it should contain at least one special character. Please note that any mismatches will not allow you to create the account password, so be cautious will entering the account password.
- After setting the new password, you should be able to access your UAN account successfully.
How to Change EPF UAN Account Password Online?
Follow the below steps to change your UAN account password:
- You need to access the official website of EPFO member (e-SEWA) login page through the following link: https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/
- Please enter your UAN account number, the password which you had reset earlier, and Captcha code. Then click on Sign in button.
- After logging into your account, click on the Account menu and select the option “Change Password”.
- Please enter your old account password once and enter the new account password twice under the New & Confirm New Password fields. Press the Update option.
- As informed earlier, the password should be 8 to 25 characters long and it should contain at least one special character.
- Please note that any mismatches will not allow you to create the account password, so be cautious will entering the account password.
- You will receive a pop-up window stating that your account password changed successfully.
- In the meantime, you will also receive an SMS regarding account password change to your mobile number which is registered with your UAN account.
How to Reset UAN password With Mobile Number
Follow the below steps to reset your UAN account password through your registered Mobile number:
- You need to access the portal and click on the option Forgot Password. Please enter your Universal Account number and Captcha text.
- The web page will display the mobile number that is registered with your account. Click on Yes button next to the OTP field.
- Now, OTP will be send to your mobile number. Enter the same on the OTP field and click on the Verify button. After verification, you will be granted with access to create your own UAN password.
- Please type the same password under both new and confirm password field.
- After setting the new password, you should be able to access your UAN account successfully.
How to Reset EPF UAN account password Without OTP Mobile number
Follow the below steps to reset your UAN account password through your non-registered Mobile number
- Please note that if the registered mobile number was changed then the process could be very tedious and will take much more time to reset your UAN account password.
- But now, the EPFO e-Seva portal has updated a new feature to change or register the mobile number with a simple procedure. They are as follows:
- You need to access the portal and click on the option Forgot Password. Please enter your Universal Account number and Captcha text then click on the Verify button.
- The mobile number which is already registered with your UAN account will be displayed.
- If you would like to change the mobile number then please click on No button.
- The web page will be display to enter your Name, Gender, KYC Type, Date of Birth and the document number corresponding the KYC type. After entering the appropriate document number under the field and click on the Verify button.
- Wait for few seconds and your entered details will be verified from the portal. Please enter the new mobile number to register with your UAN account and click on the OTP option.
- After OTP verification, you will be grant with access to create your own UAN password.
- Please type the same password under both new and confirm password field.
- After setting the new password, you should be able to access your UAN account successfully.
